Members will receive the proprietary Volunteer Scholars Guide to identifying volunteer opportunities in their communities. The Guide will be sent by email as a pdf file.

Members can apply for this award at the end of 6th, 8th, and 12th grade only, subject to all award criteria and the award application deadline (April 1).
Letter of Recommendation from Volunteer Scholars
Platinum members can request a Letter of Recommendation if they are second semester 11th grade students or seniors (12th grade) in high school and have earned at least one PVSA award through Volunteer Scholars. The Letter of Recommendation will summarize the member’s volunteer efforts including hours dedicated and specific beneficiary organizations. The Letter of Recommendation will be provided to the member via email as a pdf.
Honor Cord
Platinum members who are graduating seniors will receive a braided honor cord to wear as part of graduation regalia.
Consideration for Distinguished Volunteer
Platinum members who have completed the PVSA and/or ACA award(s) will be considered to be featured on the Volunteer Scholars webpage as a Distinguished Volunteer.
Consideration for Prudential Spirit of Community Award
Platinum members who have completed the PVSA and/or ACA awards will be considered as Volunteer Scholars’ nominees for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, one at the middle school level and one at the high school level, subject to nomination and award criteria.

List of service-based scholarship opportunities
Platinum members in 11th and 12th grade will receive a list of scholarship opportunities which recognize community service work.

Platinum members will receive a monthly e-mail with nationwide or virtual volunteer opportunities.
Press release template
Platinum members will receive a press release template for their PVSA or ACA awards that can be shared with their local media outlets.
Getting Started: Purchased a membership? You will receive an initial email with interest/availability survey within 2 weeks of enrolling. This email will help us connect you to any volunteer opportunities that we may have in your community. But don’t wait! Thousands of volunteer opportunities are available in communities across America, and only a fraction contact us for help staffing volunteers. Members may begin to volunteer at any time. In fact, members can record and get credit for volunteer work they performed before enrolling, all the way back to September 1 of the membership year. Remember to download the Volunteer Tracking Log (for the PVSA) or the American Citizenship Application (for the ACA) to get started with your record-keeping. Members can expect their membership certificate by email within 6 weeks of enrolling.
